Welcome to Living With Magic, a fan site for people who enjoy the magical arts.

My name is Michael E. Johnson, and I'm your host.  I've been into magic more than 30 years; for the past 14 years, magic has been my full-time profession.  I love sharing magic with everyone.  There's so much to this performing art, much more than meets the eye!  When I travel around the country, performing magic shows for the public, people always ask me the same questions:

  1. Where can I see Magicians perform?
  2. How do I hire a Magician for my own party?
  3. How can I become a Magician?
  4. What is the biggest secret in magic?

Living With Magic was created to answer those questions.  If want more magic in your life, this is the place to start.  This web site was updated on March 24, 2008.

First, I describe places you can see more magic in "San Diego Fun", using my own home turf as an example.  I mention several local resources.  Throughout the world there are magic clubs, magic shops, restaurants and theaters that feature magic entertainment.

Second, I offer "Hiring Tips" on how to reserve a professional magician for your own event.  Because magic is an unregulated industry, it's important to pick the right individual.  Here are questions to help determine a Magician's true credentials.  If you want the best magic, you need to find the best Magician.

Third, I reveal how to "Be a Magician" with recommendations and resources on magic associations, magic magazines and cool Magician's web sites.  It takes a lot of practice and enthusiasm to be a Magician, but magic is a performing art that can be learned, just like theater and music.

Fourth, I share the "Biggest Secrets" in magic, through the quotes of some of the world's greatest Magicians.  Don't expect to see any tricks here.  The biggest secrets of magic relate to philosophy and style.  Props and tricks play a small part in the real world of Magicians.

I hope this site tickles your interest in magic.  If you have any questions or comments, please e-mail me at mjohns341@cox.net. Thanks for visiting the site!  Here are some related links worth visiting:
